The Gluten Free Zone

Here is some great news for any Glingsters living in or around the Baltimore Maryland area. The B’More Healthy Expo is coming your way on Saturday, May 1st. The event is sponsored by Fox 45 and has Free admission.

This event will have a ton of things to do and see. From the list of offerings, I can tell you that this is going to be huge! Anything and everything that would help us to be healthier and live better lives will be there-

Including (of course) The Center for Celiac Research! It’s true, our friends from CFCR will have a large portion of this massive spectacle set aside just for the gluten free eaters of the world.

“The Gluten Free Zone” is a 20 square foot section of the event where there will be no gluten allowed. How exciting is it that CFCR is able to put together such a huge showing for Celiac Disease?! I live too far away to be there in person, but I will definitely be there in spirit :)

In “The Gluten Free Zone” (I just LOVE that name) you can find cooking demos, food samples, and information galore! They have an “Ask the Expert” section where you can get some of those hard to find answers, as well as info on local support groups, info about CFCR and you can learn all about the Celiac Clinic at CFCR.

This is definitely an event not to miss. Anyone who can be there would greatly benefit by doing so. Oh, and did I mention that it’s FREE?

As I am writing this, it keeps hitting me that the full scope of an event like this is amazing. There will be hundreds of thousands of people here, all learning about Celiac Disease. This kind of thing will go a long way toward not having to offer those awkward Celiac explanations to servers.

Whether you are new to the gluten free world, or a seasoned veteran, you can find the help you need. Not to mention the samples- That in itself is exciting :)
