Product Review: Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks
It seems pretty common that fruit snacks are one of the first treats that young children grow to love. This is not surprising considering they are usually healthier than candy, but taste just as sweet. Fruit snacks are a staple in most of the gluten free households that I know for this reason, and because there are so many choices that are naturally gluten free.
Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks stand a bit apart from some of the other fruit snacks on the shelf. They seem to take the healthy fruit snack thing to a whole new level. These snacks are naturally gluten free as well as being vegan, gelatin free, certified organic, all natural... and many more healthy descriptives. Reading the ingredients label leads me to believe that these are about as natural as bunny-shaped snacks can get :)
The flavor of the fruit snacks is good. It is not a super strong flavor like you get with some fruit snacks, but there is a very pleasant sweet tanginess to them. The texture is something I’ve never had before. They are like solidified jelly - the kind of jelly you put on toast. The texture is very light, and a bit addictive.
In the interest of full disclosure, I can’t say these will ever be my absolute favorites. They are not the best I’ve had as far as flavor goes, and they are much more expensive than most other fruit snacks you can find.
On the other hand, these are natural and organic, most others are full of chemicals. I find that I really like the fact that there are no artificial dyes used, which leaves my tummy happy. (Not to mention that the Rabbit Seal of Approval is just darn cute.)
I recommend Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks to anyone who is looking for a tasty fruit snack, without any added “Icky Additives”.
