Product Review: French Meadows Apple Cinnamon Muffins
Aaah, muffins, such happy food! I am pleased to announce that I treated myself today. I found some French Meadows Apple Cinnamon Muffins in the freezer case in the grocery store and bought one for $1.28. The muffins are the small size, what I would call “normal”. They are the kind I would make in my muffin pans at home, including the paper liner :)
The muffins are individually wrapped. I bought mine as a single but you can get a whole box to keep on hand if you prefer. The fact that they are frozen keeps them fresh and they thaw fairly quick. I bought mine in the morning and it was ready to eat by lunch.
The fourth ingredient on the list is apples. I see this as a good thing in an apple cinnamon muffin. As soon as I unwrapped it the delicious smell grabbed me by the nose. It was crazy, the muffin smelled so good that I was tempted to devour it in a blur of crumbs, cartoon style.
I composed myself, however, and was able to take small enough bites to actually taste the food. The flavor was phenomenal. The bits of apple had a great texture and there was the perfect amount of cinnamon. I seriously loved every bite. It was pure yum with no bad flavors or aftertaste mixed in.
French Meadows Apple Cinnamon Muffins are gluten free (of course), but also lactose free, peanut free and kosher. They are a bit high in the fat and calories department, but I find that most things that taste this good are.
Overall, I cannot find a single thing that would keep me from recommending these gluten free muffins. I’m going to be looking for other flavors of French Meadows gluten free muffins as well.
