Product Review: Mrs. Leeper’s Corn Elbows
Elbow noodles are a necessity in my life. I love to make casseroles and elbow noodles are about the best kind of pasta for a casserole.
Mrs. Leeper’s Corn Elbows were the first gluten free pasta of this shape I ever found. At that time, it seemed that most of my pasta choices were different thicknesses of spaghetti. Now, I am happy to say, there are a plethora of gluten free shapes and flavors of pasta out there, but these corn elbows are still some of my favorite.
The noodles themselves are orange in the bag, but after they are cooked they look just like every other pasta. Gluten free pasta has a tendency to shred and get mushy when boiled. Mrs. Leeper’s Corn Elbows have a distinction in that they have a very good texture even after being boiled and baked in a casserole.
The flavor is great as well. They taste... well, like pasta :) There is no odd flavor or funny aftertaste to be found here.
What amazes me about this product is that the only ingredient listed is organic corn flour. That means it is free of every allergen except corn. You gotta love the simplicity.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the flavor, performance and (shocker) the price of Mrs. Leeper’s Corn Elbows. I offer my full recommendation for this product.
