Product Review: Glutino Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Bar

Glutino Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Bars are more on the “bar” side than the “candy” side. They are crispy, sweet and tasty, but not super sweet like most candy bars. They are more crunchy than creamy which makes them travel very well.

Unlike most candy bars, Glutino packs theirs in a box of five. This is pretty convenient when it comes to packing lunches and grabbing snacks on the go. The chocolate coating is solid enough to hold the bar in shape.

The wafers inside are more crunchy than crispy. They are not hard, but not far from it. You will not find any airy flakiness here. The entire bar is solidly packed, making full use of the 0.9 ounce portion.

The flavor of this gluten free candy bar is good, but disappointing as well. The peanut butter inside doesn’t have very much of a peanut butter flavor. It is more like a sweet cream layer with a hint of peanut. I would rename the bar “Chocolate Crisp” and leave it at that. Even so, I really like this tasty treat and would gladly buy them again.

Overall, this candy bar was not what I expected from reading the name but I really enjoyed it. It comes with a good recommendation from both child and adult taste buds.
