Product Review: Garden Veggie Straws from Sensible Portions
This review is a little different from most of my others here on Gling. This is because this time I am reviewing a product that was not made by a gluten free company. As far as I can tell, Sensible Portions makes healthy snacks of all kinds, including the gluten filled kind. This product also differs in the fact that it is not even really marketed as a gluten free snack. Gluten free just happens to be listed among the benefits on the back of the bag.
I wanted to put this information in the beginning of the review to help avoid any confusion when shopping. There are a lot of brands of veggie straws (or sticks) that are not gluten free, and several products from Sensible Portions that are not gluten free. I would hate for anyone to get contaminated by picking up the wrong product!
Moving on and putting all of my overly cautious warnings aside; I chose to review Garden Veggie Straws from Sensible Portions because I am completely addicted to them. They are my new favorite snack, and rightfully so!
Again, my texture snobbery shows itself - these are so light and crisp! The straws are hollow inside (with square holes) and just plain fun to eat. They are also perfect for dipping and have a versatile enough flavor to mesh with just about anything.
This snack is pretty to look at because it is tri-colored. The main flavor in the veggie straws is potato, but the different colors carry a slight hint of tomato or spinach flavor.
Garden Veggie Straws are among the healthier options in snack foods. They have no preservatives, no trans fat and are all natural. Obviously they are not as good for you as eating actual veggies would be, but for a snack food they aren’t bad.
I recommend Garden Veggie Straws from Sensible Portions for all of the chronic snackers out there. I, personally, cannot get enough :)

Sensible Portions website does not list these as gluten free. Are you sure they are? I know the ingredients do not list any gluten items. I am new to the gluten free world as my daughter was just diagnosed with gluten/wheat allergies.
