Product Review: Enjoy Life Double Chocolate Brownie Cookies
I have tried many of the Enjoy Life products before. I like the fact that their products are certified gluten free and made in a dedicated gluten free and nut free facility. On reading the box further, I discovered that they are also free of wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, shellfish, casein, potato, sesame and sulfites.
I am the first to admit that this is an impressive list. I also have to admit that in the past there has also been a certain lack of flavor. The brownie bites particularly needed some hot fudge to make them taste chocolaty.
On a recent trip to the store I noticed that Enjoy Life Double Chocolate Brownie Cookies had a whole new look. As part of the new packaging there was a statement, “Now Even Tastier!” Never one to back down from a challenge, you know I had to check that out.
They were not kidding! This new formulation is excellent. The cookies are silky soft and just a bit chewy. They have a great chocolate flavor that is enhanced by a hint of the fruit used to make them.
The chocolate chips inside are teeny tiny - the perfect size to add great chocolate flavor without interrupting the texture. I would buy these again, and again :)
The thing that really impresses me about these “new” brownie bites still has to be the company behind them. I may be looking a little too deep here (my husband tells me I over-think things), but the new formulation tells me that Enjoy Life cares about their customers. They are allergy friendly enough that they could have tried to skate by on what they had. Instead, they put the time and money into making the product better. I love to see this happen.
Though I highly recommend these, you should know: These are not the type of cookies you would probably buy to pack in school lunches. There are only a dozen per box and they are so soft that they’d be crumbs after the mid-day jostle. These are the type of cookies you put on a plate for entertaining, or tea parties… Or hide in the cabinet for late night indulgence. Either way, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
