Product Review: Cherry Pecan Pop Crickle
It’s Pop Crickle time again! I really am growing to love this stuff. I found out today that not only is it really good, but it blends very well with the flavor of my favorite vanilla herbal tea. That, unfortunately, was the best part of opening the bag of Cherry Pecan Pop Crickle. Let me explain why:
Ease of Use
Pop Crickle comes in a heavy duty re-sealable plastic bag. Easy to eat, easy to take to the office in a large purse. (Really, any kind of bag will do.)
Appearance
The Cherry Pecan flavor of Pop Crickle looks to be mostly popcorn. It is the same white fluffy popcorn that I have found in the other bags I have reviewed, but with a lot less in the fruit and nut department. There is no shortage of the sugary glaze I have come to love, but unfortunately there is no shortage of popcorn kernels either. It is possible I have gotten myself a bad batch/bag here.
Taste and Texture
The popcorn is crispy and fluffy - delicious! There is a healthy dose of kernels and husks stuck to the popcorn - not so delicious. The cherries in this bag are whole, dried cherries and they are amazing. Each one tastes like a little cherry pie explosion on the tongue. I can’t report on the pecans as I have yet to find any in the bag. Maybe they are closer to the bottom?
Versatility
The most that Pop Crickle has to offer as far as versatility is in it’s flavor options. There are a bunch to choose from! So far I have tried PopDrizzle/">Dark Chocolate Caramel and Cranberry Almond.
Overall Value
The $6 price tag is way too high for the amount of kernels in this bag. If I hadn’t tried other flavors with much better quality I would be very disappointed in this product. As it is, I am willing to give it another shot.
Rating
The flavor of the cherries is awesome - if there were more of them. Right now the best rating I can give the Cherry Pecan Pop Crickle is, “okay”.
