Product Review: Almond Crunch from American Bounty Foods

These sweetened nut clusters are amazing. They offer all of the health benefits of nuts while keeping my sweet tooth in check. Almond Crunch also has an impressive list of stats. They are certified gluten free, GMO free, vegan, dairy free, 100% natural and fiber enriched. Good stuff, right? You have no idea :)

Ease of Use

These crunchy cubes come in a re-sealable plastic bag. They are easy to eat, store, take along and share.

Appearance

Almond Crunch looks like cubes of chopped up almonds. On close inspection you can see the shiny brown coating that holds everything together. It is a thin layer, nothing overpowering.

Taste and Texture

Each cluster offers the same crunch you would expect when you bite into a whole almond. The brown rice syrup and evaporated cane juice used to hold the clusters together don’t do a whole lot to change the texture.

The flavor is another story. There is a perfect mix of salty and sweet on these nuts. Every other flavor just serves to compliment the almonds themselves. Delicious!

Versatility

I think that Almond Crunch would taste divine dipped in vanilla yogurt. Truthfully, though, once D.D. and I opened the bag the clusters disappeared so fast that I didn’t have time to come up with other uses. The fact that D.D. liked them so much says a lot since she is not really a nut person.

Overall Value

The bag offers about four small servings for around $3.50. That’s not bad compared to the price of a can of mixed nuts.

Rating

I really liked Almond Crunch. There is nothing to keep me from devouring it again in the near future.
