Product Review: Coconut Cream Pie LaraBar

I have tried several flavors of LaraBars and this one may be my favorite yet. It is simple, sweet and perfect to fuel me for shopping. The ingredients made me smile and then do a double take - Nothing in there but dates, unsweetened coconut, almonds, cashews and extra virgin coconut oil.

Ease of Use

This bar is ready to eat anytime, anywhere.

Appearance

If you have ever seen a LaraBar then you will know exactly what this one looks like. It is brown with lighter colored speckles. I am sometimes amazed at the fact that all of these bars look the same, yet taste so different.

Taste and Texture

The first thing I noticed when I opened the wrapper was a sweet coconut smell. It really grabbed me, I would wear this bar as perfume if it didn’t look so silly. The flavor is the same as the smell. Coconut Cream Pie LaraBar has a flavor that reminds me of a Mound candy bar. It has the texture of coconut enrobed in a smooth and creamy setting. My sweet tooth thought I was eating a candy bar. I didn’t even miss the chocolate!

Versatility

I will probably limit the versatility of this bar to just plain snacking. I have a thing for coconut candy bars so having this as a substitute is awesome for me. I can satisfy my craving with 1/4 cup of fruit rather than the sugar I usually eat.

Overall Value

LaraBars cost just under $2 each and are just big enough to make a great afternoon snack.

I will probably grab one of these every chance I get. It’s that good.
