Ethnic foods can make GF easier ... or harder!
A Day in the Hot Sun!
Today, I took my family for a visit to Portland's Japanese Garden. It was blazing hot and, needless to say, we were all STARVING and ready for lunch.
What's the Challenge?
One thing we have found particularly tricky is eating at ethnic restaurants.
We tend to like lots of different ethnic foods, but it can be tough to know how food is made when you're not familiar with the food.
We tend to eat a lot of Asian food (Thai, Japanese, Chinese) since our daughters are Chinese and we like to dive into cultural experiences as a family.
Make sure you don't assume that gluten isn't present because of the predominance of MSG (monosodium glutemate) in many types of foods.

Agreed! I can see much that needs tweaking.
I like eating Asian food, too. It tends to be a bit of a cautious experience for the kids though. Rice and anything that they're convinced is chicken is pretty much it at the moment.

Unfortunately, we don't have many ethnic restaurants out in the boonies of Hawaii. :(
