Product Review: Authentic Foods Vanilla Bean Cake Mix

Today I was excited to try this new mix sent to me by Authentic Foods. Doing reviews of their mixes has been a true pleasure, as they have all been very outstanding in flavor, texture and ease of use. For a busy life, these mixes have been wonderful!

Authentic Foods Vanilla Bean Cake Mix is wonderful! The mix went together easily and was heavenly smelling while it was baking. My kids couldn't wait for the cake to cool enough so that they could try a piece. The baking time for my oven was sightly longer, but the cake came out beautifully!

This cake bakes in a eight-inch square pan and would make the perfect treat for any occasion. Frosted or not, it is super moist and stands alone just beautifully. Rich vanilla bean flavor and the flecks of vanilla in the cake make you feel like you are eating a rich vanilla bean ice cream, without the cold. So delicious!

A nice fluffy chocolate frosting would be wonderful on this cake, but as you can see from the picture my family couldn't wait for that addition. To be honest, I was rather anxious to try this cake myself. It would have been well worth the wait, but the cake stands alone quite nicely!

I have also heard that the chocolate version of this cake is also wonderful. With as tasty as the vanilla bean one is, I am sure that the chocolate one would be heaven! Being a chocolate lover, and the fact that the Double Chocolate Brownie mix that I tried last week was so wonderful, I can only imagine. A chocolate lovers dream!

The package also has a recipe to make this luscious cake into blueberry muffins as well. Sounds wonderful, with spots of fresh blueberries in every bite. All I could say is, "Yummy!" There are other recipes on the Authentic Foods web site as well.

For this particular cake mix there is a scrumptious looking Cranberry Upside Down Cake that looks amazing! I would imagine that you could use this mix for any of your favorite "upside down cake" recipes.

This is one cake mix that will find its way onto my pantry shelves for sure. I am not generally a fan of mixes, but this one was just that good!
