Portland area Glingsters....such amazing news!!!
Some of you may have already heard about the amazing opportunity we have been given to learn to make amazing gluten-free bread. For those of you that haven't heard, have I got fun news for you!
Are you from the Portland, Oregon area? Do you miss bread, REAL bread? One of our members, Charles Luce, has started teaching bread baking classes and is kicking off his bread making workshops here in our area! This is a not to be missed workshop for all gluten-free cooks and bakers that long to master good bread making skills.
Maybe you are new to cooking gluten-free and are totally at a loss as to how to make a good loaf of "real" bread. Gluten-free breads are not easy, and have been my biggest frustration on this gluten-free journey, I'm sure I am not alone here.
Perhaps you have been able to make some bread on your gluten-free journey, but really miss the artisan breads that you knew and loved in your gluten-eating days. Wonderful hearth style breads. Sound interesting? This is just the beginning of what is in store for anyone that takes this workshop.
In this all day workshop, you will learn what natural leavening is and how it works. How to mix, shape and proof wild leavened and gluten-free dough. What flours make the best breads, what equipment you should buy and what you shouldn't waste your money on. As well as how to store your finished product.
That is not all you will learn. There is so much information on what you will be doing all day in this workshop on Charles' website. I would highly recommend that you visit his site and read up on all that will be covered in this workshop. There is also information on how to register.
Learning to make gluten-free breads that actually look and taste like real bread, learning the techniques needed to be able to create the bread you long for could be a dream come true for some of you. I know I felt like a little girl at Christmas time when I heard that Charles wanted to kick of his workshops here in our area. Just think of what you could create if given the right tools and knowledge for the job. Well, here comes the knowledge!
Here is a copy of a letter from Charles regarding this class:

Hope to see you in March!

What an amazing opportunity to learn what so many in the gluten-free world wishes they knew! Most of us have seen gluten-free breads that looked amazingly good, some of us have even tasted it. ALL of us have wanted to know "how" to make this bread. Lets face it, buying gluten-free bread already made can cost a small fortune.
Any of you that have followed my blog in the past know that I tend to go more for the "make it yourself" kind of attitude and buy very little ready made anything. The thought of being able to make my own sourdough bread has been a dream since going gluten-free. I have even been working the past few months on a starter that I've seen more miss than hit success with.
Having the ability to make amazing bread in my own kitchen, even if it were just for dinner parties or gifts would be an amazing thing! If you agree with me, then this class is for you. Such an amazing chance for us to be involved with this kind of workshop. Something that people from all over the country will be longing to be apart of.
So, contact Charles soon. Space is limited and as he said, it is first-come-first-served. How sad would it be to finally decide to take the class only to find that it is full. Besides, you know you have been craving amazingly good bread! Here's your chance to have some and learn how to make it. Dinner rolls and loaves of bread, the stuff of gluten-filled dreams, now gluten-free!
