Football Party Foods!

Posted by: valeriefender on Oct. 4, 2010

It’s that time of year again, football season. It seems that there are games to be watched every weekend and people are gathering to watch them together. My family is not big on football, other than watching the Super Bowl every year, but I know there are many of you out there that love to get together with friends to watch your favorite teams play.

Everyone knows that it is humanly impossible to watch a game on TV or in person without something tasty to munch on. Everyone has their favorite snack food from sweet to salty and everywhere in between. Chips, dips, burgers, chili, dogs, crackers, cheeses...the list goes on and on!

Often, it can be a challenge to fill that need for good munchies and avoid gluten, but it’s far from impossible. We have so many tasty options to fill your football season munching needs. Options that even your gluten-enjoying friends and family will also enjoy.

There are many amazing products available to purchase for snacking on from crackers to pretzels. Do you have a favorite? Been afraid to try? Marissa has done many product reviews here on Gling. From cheese curls and crackers to cookies and cinnamon rolls. Even pizza crusts and ready made pizza. We can’t forget the pretzels, a must have for any party.

Not wanting to purchase everything ready made? No problem! How about some onion crackers? So easy to make and always a hit at my house, gluten-free or not. Everyone loves cheese for snacking on, how about a cheese dip? Artichoke dip is always a favorite and this recipe is one of the best I’ve tried. A cheese ball is also another tasty option.

Want something to go with your favorite corn chips? Guacamole, spicy bean dip or a tex-mex are always crowd favorites. You can’t forget the salsa.

Looking for a sweet treat to serve to your friends and family? Chocolate is always a winner! How about some tasty brownies? Perhaps a cookie? Tanya G has an amazing recipe here on Ging for pumpkin cookies, they are a favorite at my house, for sure!

Another tasty treat for any gathering are doughnuts! The pumpkin doughnuts can easily be made into “holes” for a quick to make treat! Simply use a small cookie scoop to shape the “holes”. They fry up quickly and will be ready for the big game in no time.

Last, but not least on the list of favorite snack foods is popcorn. From just buttered to flavored the possibilities are endless! Sweet caramel corn and savory nacho corn are simple and easy additions to your list of snack foods for the big game. Plus, it’s super portable and everyone loves it!

Enjoy your time sharing favorite snack foods while you watch the game with friends and family. With the perfect snacks on hand, it’s sure to be the best (and tastiest) football season yet!
