Almond Rocha safe

Umm....yes, it's that good!

This is a candy that my husbands mother makes every year and it is so good! I believe it is as good, if not better, than the store bought variety. Everything is better home made. This is one of the first kinds of candy I ever made and it's so easy.

Ingredients

1 pound butter
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 to 2 cups chopped nuts
12 ounces chocolate chips

Instructions

Melt butter and sugar in a heavy saucepan. Boil to 300 degrees (hard crack stage), use a candy thermometer for accuracy. Stirring constantly. Spread mixture in buttered cookie sheet. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. When they melt, spread evenly over boiled mixture. Sprinkle evenly with nuts. Let stand 2 hours then break into bite sized pieces.
