Baked Apple Slices safe

All of the goodness of an apple pie with half the work.

This is such a quick and easy dessert for the fall season. You won't miss the pie crust. This would also work well in a crock pot as well.

Prep time 15 minutes
Cooking time 45-50 minutes
Servings 8

Ingredients

10 apples, cored, peeled and sliced
2 teaspoons apple pie spice
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Tapioca granules
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 cup butter (or dairy free alternative), cut into chunks

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients except for the butter. Once combined, pour into a greased 9X13” baking dish that has been greased. Dot the top with the butter. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes or until the apples are tender. Uncover and bake a while longer to allow the sauce to thicken. Serve over ice cream or with whipped cream. Would also make a wonderful topping for waffles or pancakes.
