Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat or boneless chuck pot roast cut into 1 inch pieces
2 1/2 cups peeled and seeded butternut squash (or your favorite squash) cut into 1 inch pieces
1 large onions, cut into wedges
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 quart beef stock
1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
1/8 teaspoon allspice
2 Tablespoons cold water
4 teaspoons cornstarch
1 can green beans
Instructions
In a slow cooker, combine all of the ingredients except for the corn starch and cold water. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Once the stew is finished cooking, add cornstarch mixture. If your crock pot is set to the low setting, turn to high and allow to thicken.
If cooking on the stove top, allow about 90 minutes for the stew to cook through on medium heat. Stirring every once in a while to ensure even cooking.
