Creamy Peppermint Patties safe

So easy to make, such a welcomed surprise on your cookie and candy try this Christmas!

Servings 4 dozen

Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
9 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons shortening

Instructions

Beat the cream cheese and peppermint extract until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Flatten balls into patties. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until thoroughly chilled.

In a microwave safe bowl, melt chips and shortening in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each until melted and smooth. Cool slightly. Dip patties in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper until firm. Store in the refrigerator.

    These sound so good. There are so many recipes that I would like to make but feel like I don't have all the time I need to make them all. lol

    I ALWAYS feel that way! There is just never enough time to cook all the wonderful foods that would be "just perfect" for every occasion! I'd be cooking 24/7 if I had the resources and energy, AND someone to eat it all.

    I wish someone could clean my house while I lived in my kitchen. They laundry piles as I could so it seems. lol

    Laundry breeds in the hamper in my house. Thankfully I can cook AND do laundry, or we'd never have clean clothes. :-) Happy cooking!
