This apple pie is a pretty easy apple pie for being homemade. What makes it easy is the crust. The crust is made in a food processor. On a day when you are already making so many other things. You want something that gives a great presentation without having to spend hours making it. This is your pie.

Prep time
Cooking time 40 to 50 minutes
Servings 1 pie

Ingredients

6 thinly sliced apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup applesauce
1 Tablespoon butter
3 Tablespoons dried raspberries,strawberries,or cranberries
parchment paper
Dry beans (any) 1 cup This is just to weigh down your crust while baking.

2 pie crusts

NOTE: I used this pie crust recipe from this site and made it twice to have a top and a bottom crust. http://gling.com/recipes/the best ever pie crust/

Instructions

Roll out your pie crust to fit your pan.

Place your prepared pie crust in your pan.

Cut out a piece of parchment paper to fit in the center of the crust.

Then place it in the pan. Then you want to place the beans in the pan on the parchment paper.

Bake crust in a 350 oven for 20 minutes.

Pie filling:

Place apples into a large bowl.

Then add sugars, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, raspberries and applesauce to your apples. Stir to combine.

Let sit for about 5 minutes.

Add your apple filling to your cooked pie crust. Then blot your butter on top of filling.

Then roll out your second pie crust that you made. You can use any mini cookie cutter to have a decorative crust. You would need to do this after rolling it out. If you do not use the cookie cutter. You will need to insert a knife on the top of the pie for ventilation.

Place this crust on top. Cut or press the sides to your liking.

Bake in a 350 degrees oven for about 55 minutes. I brushed the pie with a lightly beaten egg.

Then I sprinkled a tablespoon of sugar on the crust.

After about 20 to 30 minutes. I would spray the pie with a water bottle. I did this every 10 minutes until done. This helped brown the pie.
