Homemade Tomato Sauce
This is your sauce for your next lasagna

Ingredients
1 red bell pepper chopped
1 orange or yellow bell pepper chopped
1 medium onion chopped
3 cloves garlic chopped
1 28 ounce can of chopped tomatoes or you can use fresh tomatoes
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 1/4 tsp savory
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp pepper
2 Tbls olive oil
Instructions
Add the bell pepper,onion and 1/2 tsp of the salt to a medium pot. I use a dutch oven
Saute until soft. About 6 minutes
Then add the garlic. Saute for two minutes
Add the dried herbs,pepper,salt and stir.
Add the tomatoes
Cook for about two hours. You can cook it longer if you think it needs it. I would taste it and see if it needs more salt at this point. If you do cook it longer it is not going to hurt the sauce. You may also do this in a crockpot on low all day.
When the sauce is done. I like to use a immersion blender to make it not as chunky.
