Iced Buttermilk Brownies safe

Cakelike, with a great rich flavor.

These melt in your mouth. Even without the icing.

Prep time 20 minutes
Cooking time 30 minutes
Servings 36 squares

Ingredients

Brownies:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup oil
2 cups corn starch
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs

Icing:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cocoa
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
3 to 4 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Brownies:
1 – Bring the butter, water, cocoa, and oil to a boil.

2 – Sift the corn starch, sugar, salt, and baking soda and pour over the boiled mixture.

3 – Add the buttermilk and 2 eggs.

4 – Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes in a 9×13 pan (or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center). You can also put them in a jelly roll pan, but then only bake for 20 minutes.

Icing:
1 – Bring the butter and the cocoa to a boil.

2 – Add the buttermilk, vanilla, salt, and powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
