Peanut Butter Fudge safe

An old family recipe.

My grandmother made this fudge every year, as a kid it was my favorite. This fudge brings back memories of my grandmother.

1 quart peanut butter
1 pound butter or margarine, softened
2 1/2 pounds powdered sugar
2 12 ounce packages chocolate chips
6 tablespoons butter or margarine


Mix the first three ingredients together and spread into a jelly-roll pan. Place in the refrigerator for 1 1/2 hours. Once it is thoroughly chilled, melt chocolate chips and margarine in a double boiler. Spread chocolate over peanut butter layer and chill until set. Once completely chilled, cut into 1 inch squares. Store in air tight container. Enjoy!
