This recipe was and is a family tradition when I was growing up and has become a tradition with my husbands family now too. So good, so easy to whip up even the day before. Everyone loves it!

Prep time
Cooking time

4 small packages instant vanilla pudding
1 quart buttermilk
1 pint Cool Whip
1 can pineapple tidbits, drained
2 cans fruit cocktail, drained
2 cans mandarin oranges, drained

Mix pudding and buttermilk. Drain all of your fruit. Should note that there are no sizes for the cans, I usually use the standard can size, not the huge ones. Any amount will do though, if you want more fruit in your salad or less. Fold in all of the ingredients into the pudding mixture and chill until serving.

*Originally this salad was served with crushed graham cracker crumbs. You could also do this with gluten-free graham crackers. We have not missed the cracker crumbs, however, so I generally leave them out.
