By far, the best bread pudding! It is well worth the effort. The flavor of pumpkin pie is amazing in this dessert. Would be wonderful with a bit of whipped cream or something drizzled over it. The dried cranberries add a bit of a fun tang to the pudding. So good! My kids LOVED this.

Ingredients
2 cups half and half
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pumpkin Pastry Sticks (http://gling.com/recipes/pumpkin pastry sticks/) recipe here on Gling. Cut these into cubes and let dry a bit.
1/2 cup dried cranberries
Instructions
First, make the pastry sticks and let them cool. Cut them into cubes and let dry out a bit on the counter, though this is not totally necessary.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat milk and butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and the half and half is scalded. Mix eggs, sugar, pumpkin pie spice and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the cubed pastry and cranberries. Stir in milk mixture; pour into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Place casserole in pan of very hot water about an inch deep.
Bake uncovered until knife inserted 1 inch from edge of casserole comes out clean, about 40-45 minutes. Serve warm and, if desired, with cream.
