Is this it? Is this the year you decide you've had enough and you are going to really try this world of gluten-free? Are you scared, overwhelmed and worried it will be too hard? No worries...we are here to help!
Gluten free cream of mushroom!
Are you just starting out on this gluten-free journey? Frustrated with failed recipes and ready made products that didn't make the grade? You are not alone.
Everyone feels the strain on their budgets these days, the cost of living is just so high. Adding the gluten-free lifestyle into that mix can be overwhelming...it doesn't have to be!
Are you finding yourself in your kitchen a lot this time of year? I do too and these tools help me prepare some really yummy gluten-free treats for my friends and family! Having the right tool for the job equals less stress and more fun.
Our path was before us, the choice had to be made. We chose health, well being and that meant saying goodbye to gluten. Could we do it?
Our journey continues...coming to grips with what it all would mean could prove to be a bigger challenge than I had anticipated!
You have a busy schedule...cooking from scratch is just to much! Is it really? Here are a few tips to get you started!
- Dads Who Cook (dadswhocook)
- OK, so I'm not sure how many Dads love to cook as much as I do, but bring it on! Any ideas would be great!
- Gourmet GF Foodies (gourmet)
- We LOVE food. We are gourmet cooks! We've got serious kitchen tools. We WILL spend hours in the kitchen, happily, making fabulous eats for ourselves and our friends and family. We are UNDAUNTED by long recipes, specialty stores and exotic ingredients. Bring it on! We will not eat it JUST because it's GF! Here is where we share that recipe for amazing flourless chocolate cake, french macarons, onion-braised brisket, seared scallops, and, yes, sorghum bread.
If you have any amazing corn-free recipes that your family loves, would you add them to the recipe section? It would be nice to have some options that are specifically corn-free for those that need some new ideas. :-) Make sure you tag them as corn-free when you add them so they are easy to find.
I'm deeply in love with traditional, almond-based French macarons, something I discovered several years ago in Paris, not knowing I even had celiac at the time.
I come across them on occasion - a weekend trip to San Francisco led me to Thomas Keller's Yountville restaurant ( I bought a box!) but they are unfortunately scarce in my Salt Lake home base.
I HAVE made them once before, but wasn't thrilled with the recipe I used ( I think it was an old one from Gourmet magazine). I've seen several online, but the ingredients are expensive enough that I'd like a 'sure-thing' recipe.
So who makes a beautiful macaron? Please share!
